Overview

OEM and ODM Battery Manufacturing Partnership

Distributors and regional battery brands increasingly want their own product line rather than reselling a generic pack. EcoDyny operates as an OEM and ODM partner for that purpose: we take a specification or a sample, engineer the cell selection, BMS configuration, enclosure and labelling, and manufacture under the customer's brand. Our role covers the parts of product development that are expensive to build in-house, namely cell qualification, BMS parameter tuning, tooling for enclosures and the documentation needed for market entry. Engagements range from light customisation of an existing platform to full ODM development of a new pack format, quoted per project against volume and tooling requirements.

Part 01

Customisation Scope: Cell, BMS, Enclosure

Most OEM projects start with one of three questions: which cell, which BMS behaviour, and what shape does the pack need to be. We work through them in that order because cell selection constrains everything downstream.

  • Cell format and capacity selection from prismatic, cylindrical and pouch options, with matching tolerance defined per application
  • BMS firmware configuration covering charge and discharge limits, protection thresholds, communication protocol and reporting behaviour
  • Enclosure design in ABS, aluminium or steel, with IP rating, mounting points and connector placement to the customer's requirement
  • Labelling, branding, manuals and packaging under the customer's own identity
  • Optional integration of display, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G or heating functions

Each change is documented in a specification sheet signed off before tooling or production begins, so both sides work from the same definition.

Part 02

Certification Support and Market Access

Market entry documentation is often the real barrier for a distributor launching a private-label battery. We support the testing and documentation process rather than presenting certifications as already held for every market.

  • Test reports and technical files prepared against the destination market's requirements, including transport documentation for lithium cells and packs
  • UN 38.3 transport testing coordination, MSDS and packaging instructions
  • Support for IEC 62619, IEC 62133 and similar cell and pack safety standards testing through third-party laboratories
  • CE, RoHS and REACH documentation support for European buyers, and equivalent market documentation for other regions
  • Assistance with the customer's own certification applications where local registration is required

Scope, testing route and cost responsibility are agreed in writing before work starts; we do not claim approvals we have not obtained for a given product and market.

Part 03

Programme Management and Quality Control

An OEM relationship lives or dies on consistency between the sample and the fifth container. We structure programmes to make that repeatability explicit.

  • Golden sample retained by both parties as the reference for appearance, dimensions and electrical performance
  • Incoming cell inspection, capacity and internal-resistance sorting, and traceability by cell batch
  • In-process checks at welding, BMS assembly, sealing and final charge-discharge
  • Pre-shipment inspection with sampling per batch, plus third-party inspection coordination on request
  • Documented change control: any component or firmware change is notified and approved before it ships

We also agree spare-parts commitments and warranty terms at programme level, so after-sales obligations are understood before the first order rather than after the first failure. Production scheduling is agreed per order so that pilot and validation batches do not compete with volume runs for the same line capacity, and shipment milestones are confirmed against the customer's own launch dates.

Benefits

What this design gives you

Your Brand, Our Production

Products ship with the customer's labelling, manuals and packaging, allowing distributors to build brand equity and margin rather than competing on price for generic resale stock.

Engineering Rather Than Repackaging

Cell selection, BMS tuning and enclosure design are worked through as engineering tasks, not treated as cosmetic changes to a stock product with a different label applied.

Documented Change Control

Component and firmware changes require notification and approval before shipment, protecting the customer's field performance, warranty exposure and reputation in their own local market, and keeping product traceability intact for later claims.

Golden Sample Discipline

A reference sample held by both parties anchors appearance, dimensions and electrical performance across repeat production runs, so later batches match the sample originally approved.

Certification Route Clarity

Testing scope, laboratory route and cost responsibility are agreed in writing, so market-entry expectations and timelines are realistic from the outset of the development programme.

Scalable from Pilot to Volume

Programmes typically start with a pilot batch for field validation before committing to container volumes and dedicated tooling, limiting the customer's initial financial exposure and risk.
